Opened my eyes to another factor that could have potentially devastating effects to the financial markets end the economy at large. Too much money printing, not enough real jobs being created, slow economic expansion, wage increases with low earnings + this= BIG HEADWINDS coming up.
I loved how this book addressed ERISA and how the baby boomers retiring will affect the stock market. People just think that the 90s was great because the economy was doing so well. The truth is, baby boomers were pumping money into the markets and that helped the economy. Why were baby boomers putting money into the economy in the first place? ERISA. Don't know what ERISA is? Read the book and do your own research. The stock market crashing now isn't going to stop because the baby boomers are retiring.
I've read all of RK's book's. I tend to look at them as a different point of view and as motovators. The investment advice is a little thin and sometimes downright dangerous unless you're very well informed plus have money you can afford taking a chance with. In other words you can afford to lose all of it without it making much difference to you.I was well on my way to being independent (I own 12 dbles in one company, and a dble and triple in another plus parts of 3 other small companies) before I read his books. However they did give me some much needed insights.BTW--on pg 156 the author talks about turning ordinary things into gold. It is possible to do so w/fusion, etc. It was first done in 1972 (it had been reported earlier but not documated) and again in 1980 (by Glenn Seaborg). However it costs more to do then the gold is worth. If I remember correctly it cost about $10,000 a oz to turn lead into gold.A good read overall. I hadn't thought much about what will happen to my health costs when I retire and that got me to thinking I may need more money to retire than I thought. My goal has now been raised from 3 million to 5 million. I'm about 1/2 of the way there now so it will take a lot to get there in the next 15-17 years.And I liked his idea of using a ark to represent your plan to be wealthy.
The book was very good. If you have read any of his other books, you will have to wade thru the repeat of some of his story's. He writes all his book like you never have read any of his books.
Awesome read, period! I've always enjoyed Robert Kiyosaki's books because he demonstrates how "rich" is really your state of mind. Fact is, the rich do think differently. Before you can build wealth, you really have to think differently than what we're taught in main stream society's education. "Rich" is born in our minds. How we think, how we process opportunity, etc.
This book is a scam. I ordered it in sept 2012 as a new edition. It took almost a year to arrive, presumably because it was still being revised. It now has a 2013 copyright! However, there is nothing in the book dated past 2002. As far as I can tell, It is the exact some book as the first edition. I have read most of his books. They are easy reads and do have some interesting information, but also incredibly repetitious. This one may be the worst in that regard. My advice, don't buy it if you have read any of his other books. It's a waste of money.
