I have been physically active all my life and now that I am in my senior years with medical issues I have a few more aches and pain from my six days a week workout routine. When I saw this book on Amazon for a bargain price I immediately purchased it. I am always suspicious with books promising the moon but I found this interesting and informative book (3 Minutes to a pain-free life: the groundbreaking program for total body pain prevention and rapid relief by Joseph Weisberg and Heidi Shink) had a lot of excellent practical advice on how to control and relieve common pain.I found the exercise movements are very similar and in many cases the same stretching and yoga asana I have been doing for years; nevertheless, the method they are used is what makes this approach more effective. This 300 plus soft cover book is organized into three parts.Part one (The problem is not the problem) tells about the good news about pain, the evil of sitting too much, if it’s physical, it’s therapy, medicinal know-no’s and myths debunked. The second part (The solution is the Weisberg Way) covers the 3-minute maintenance method which explains and shows the 6 basic movements of this practical and easy to follow system. I was already doing most of these movements in my own personal workout, but I was not doing them the Weisberg Way. This section also has numerous solutions to a wide variety of pain issues. The final part (Special circumstances) I found especially valuable as it covered doing movements designed for athletes, senior citizens, pregnant women and children. This section also covered exercises you can do while traveling.In conclusion, I recommend this book to anyone who is seeking a simple and unique approach to relieving some of the common aches and pains many people complain about.Rating: 5 Stars. It's been several years since I ordered this book. It absolutely works! I had it for a few months before I actually read it, which of course was after injuring my back while shoveling snow. I began the therapeutic poses, and got relief from my back pain within one day. I have since memorized the poses. They really help to keep my back limber. I have a desk job, so I sit for large parts of each day. I can definitely feel a difference if I slack off for a couple of days.I have shared this book with several friends and relatives. The ones who actually do the poses have reported relief from their conditions.If you have a workout routine, this makes a great cooldown, or even post-cooldown. It's the most effective 3 minutes of every day!

I'm only 31, but Ive had back pain for years. About a month into this program, my pain was gone. I'm a nurse so I tweet my back once or twice a year but I never have chronic pain anymore.It's simply physiology, stretching and strengthening your muscles will help treat most forms of pain. The three minutes is easy to stick to every day, but I will notice myself feeling tight in my body after about a week of no stretches.The squat alone was very difficult for me to get into at the start of this program, now I sit into a square as a relaxing position and an instant way to releave a tight neck or lower back at work.For most people, this program is going to work wonders. It isn't a gimmick. It is simply incorporating every day stretching and strength training into your daily life.(Word of warning: Be careful with the Cobra stretch. If you don't have stringer abs you are likely to tweet your lower back with that stretch)

If you have any joint (legs & ankles) or stiff back, neck, elbows, etc, pains, this stretching program is the best I have ever tried.It only takes about 3-4 minutes a day to do these stretches and you will start to feel the results immediately. I've been doing these stretches for about 6 months now and am amazed at how much "younger" the joints feel. Note - I'm 67 and stiff joints sneak up on you as the years go by. No more waiting for the joints to free up when getting up from a chair or out of the car!Well worth the investment.

I fell down a flight of stairs and have been in pain since. Went for physical therapy. He gives same exercises. Unfortunately, working by computer 8 hrs a day is bringing all the pain back. I do his TMs, 3 min each day. They Really help. His writing style is just a bit repetitive and long winded.

Very informative. I had sciatica pain in my left leg that was very intense for about 6 months. I lived on the 3rd floor of my apartment complex and walking up and down the stairs was crippling! I could not sleep, it was awful. I saw an info commercial for this book and took a chance. It was a life saver! I followed the instructions and within 3 days my pain was gone! I have lent this book to a number of my friends and co-workers since and I this is one item I make sure I get back.

These amazingly simple and quick exercises have made a HUGE difference in my life, and that of my husband. He was plagued for years by a sore elbow and after only two weeks of using one of the exercises for the elbow, his pain is nearly gone. And he does the exercise while he's brushing his teeth! The three minute routine has given me greater flexibility. I'm moving more freely and am able to do my Tai Chi movements more easily and from a deeper stance. The best part of this exercise routine is that it takes only three minutes!
