A wonderful second book to the author's first in this area, "The God Virus: How Religion Infects Our Lives and Culture" and just as frightening when seen with a completely unjaded and wide-eyed look into what is actually happening with this religious control. The BIG FIVE: Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism & Buddhism are all raging winners of the most controlling religions around the world and just look at the number of followers! The author brings up more remote groups of people who lived a life virtually free of religious control and the outcome was beautiful - read the book to find out about them, then compare it to what you see around you, astonishing! A personal note, we came from a long, long line of descendants from millions of years ago and this was before the brick and mortar to technologically advanced society we live in today. We're here, alive and kicking, and there's a reason for it! A must read (all the way through) for all!

This book is excellent in so many ways. It certainly delivers on the claim of its title. The chapter on the biology of sex is absolutely fascinating, where I learned many things that I had no idea about until reading this book. It has stimulated my curiosity to want to learn more about sexuality including human sexuality so I can hopefully develop my own better informed positions on the controversial sexual issues of our day.
I grew up Catholic and non-denominational. I was given very incomplete sexual information and believe that the depression and suicidal ideations I've struggled with are tied to my suppression of my sex drive. Not sure whether or not to embrace ideas about polyamory and homosexuality in this book as science or not; but this book did dispel many myths and helped me to see that I need healthy ways of attaching to keep my marriage healthy.
