Accurate and easy to read New Catholic Version. The Catholic Publishing Company have done a great work with this New Testament, and words of Christ in red which i think is important to. One of the best translations i have ever read. The words come alive when your reading. Excellent

Preparing for a trip to the Holy Land, this vest pocket New Testament is the best for coordinating the tour stops with the Gospel message. It is an excellent translation and having it for a group of people will bring about a prayerful environment while walking with Jesus

Bought this as the Holy Father recommended we all keep a copy of the New Testament in our pocket or handbag. Good pocket size, but a bit thick as, of course, there's a lot in the New Testament. So a bit too heavy for the pocket. But if you are you g and fit, go for it. Good binding. I am now looking for pocket copies of each of the "chapters"

This came in good time and is the translation I prefer. It has footnotes (explanations of what the you might not understand) at the end of each chapter, which makes it easy to use as reference--the child I gave it to is using the footnotes--increases her interest in the Bible.

I liked this New Testament, but I really wanted and need the Pocket Size, as the print in the Vest Pocket Size is too small for me to really do a good job of reading it. Let me know where I can purchase the Pocket Edition of the Revised New American BibleThank you.John

This little pocket New Testament was literally just thrown into the envelope without any care! When I went to pull it out the back cover, along with some pages where bent so fare back it created dog ears.

No problem. Quick delivery

i love this edition!

I feared religion, feared succumbing to the opiate of the masses. The word "God" troubled me, even while I sought a deeper spirituality. Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit... I blindly closed my mind to anything in Christian terms. But I was fortunate enough to pick up this book at a time in my life when I was beginning to shed many of my judgements, and consider faith not by how others may abuse it or be shackled by it, but how it might empower me to find a deeper happiness. It all started with me re-stumbling upon a quote I read five years ago on how we feared not our inadequacy, but our strength. And it ended up with me finishing this book minutes ago and my mind screeching to a halt, "What? It's over? I need more!" Only the whole point of the book was telling me I don't need to read more, I just need to act on what resonated with me from the words so recently imbibed.I rather doubt I'll ever consider myself Christian. But when you translate the concept of God from a bearded Old Testament crotchety and vengeful powerhouse to the raw and unadulterated purity of love... I don't need to read the Bible to find answers. When the idea of Jesus isn't so much the one and only Son of God, but a state of grace each and everyone of us can become through the shedding of fear... I can relate. When the word Christ is us used to speak to the fact that all of us are connected, rather than a fixation on crucifixion... I can open my mind a crack more. And the concept of the Holy Spirit as the guiding force that allows us to replace fear and its derivatives with love for ourselves and one another... alright, finally Christianity makes at least a lick of sense.Does everything in these pages resonate to me? I'm not sure, but it doesn't need to. The whole point as there is no single right answer, beyond the fact that love is always the right answer. But going to church on Sunday, believing in Jesus, living a life of abstaining from all physical joys or looking upon others or ourselves with judgement and shame... not a prerequisite to finding wisdom in these pages. I would finish a chapter, and the whole world would seem to make more sense. Colors looked better, and I would sink into a feeling of peace is never felt before. The book calls my shift in perception a miracle. I don't think I'm capable of disagreeing on that point. As the author says, this is only the beginning, not the destination. I don't know if I'll read or undertake A Course in Miracles, but I do know that this companion, this interpretation, has changed my world for the better.

So I am not finished with this book yet (about 70% of the way) but I felt like I needed to write a review today because I got to a point in the book where things started to go a bit sideways.I was recommended this book by someone, and I think the underlying message of the book is quite powerful. It basically teaches you to let go, focus on your inner light, aka your love, and let the rest happen as it will. I think this does wonders to curb your anxiety, and in a world were we are constantly bombarded with the collective neurosis that we constantly need to be "doing" and "making things happen," this offers a refreshingly saner perspective. It is counter-intuitive at times how, by letting things unfold as they will, we often get the things we so wanted as a by-product of focusing on our own inner light and bringing love to the world around us. This is where the message of this book is powerful. This book does use Christian theology as the way to explain this process. So it is based a lot on faith and prayer. As an atheist, I was able to overlook this and re-frame some of this as thinking about it in terms of the universe, and allowing the universe to unfold as it will. I don't particularly believe in prayer, but again I was able to overlook this in order to follow the message of the book, which really is about love. However, things got a bit sideways around Chapter 8. The author makes several claims, without citing any sources or studies:1. That the pill that the doctor gives us only heals us because we believe it heals us.2. That holistic medicine is just as effective in treating cancer as traditional medicine, because it is the patient's mental and emotional interaction with his treatment that activates the healing power.3. That when the cure for AIDs is finally found, we will give prizes to a few scientists, but many of us will know that millions and millions of prayers helped it happen.Especially the last one made me yell "Bullshit!" so loud that I am pretty sure I woke my neighbors. First of all, the author provides no evidence to back up the exceptional statements she makes. I don't see any studies or sources which can confirm her rather bold statements. As Hitchens said rather succinctly, "Exceptional claims demand exceptional evidence, and that which can be asserted without evidence, can be dismissed without evidence."In the US especially where anti-scientific attitude is pervasive (see: anti-vaxxers) her words here are actually quite dangerous. I really hope they don't lead people down the wrong path, and that people go to qualified medical professionals for their illnesses rather than try and pray themselves to health. So the book, which uses primarily Christian theology to explain the idea of love, unfortunately also suffers from the insanity of Christian theology in the belief that prayer can cure something like AIDs.Has this book overall been helpful to me, personally? I would say yes, it has. There is beauty and positivity in focusing on giving love and paying attention to your inner light. However, I would only recommend this book with a warning clause that some of the statements made by the author suffer from the archaic (and potentially dangerous) thinking that plagues most theologies.*edit: After finishing the book I still stand by my original review. One thing I wanted to add is that I have been using the “prayers” from the book (I just make them secular) as they seem to be a good way to ease anxiety and emotions when faced with difficult events or thoughts. Coupled with meditation it’s a good way to cope in harder times. The methods in this book are quite good in that regard; reframing your thoughts.

So far I love it. I have been a MW fan for two decades. I am really "working" the program. It contains 14 Lessons. Of hand it mentions that it is a lesson per day. The first lesson has taken me a month to date and I still have a few more words to work through. There are a list of emotions to release. You are supposed to choose those that apply. Of course, they all apply. I spend about 30 minutes journaling on each. I do one word per day. There are about 28 words. After a couple of weeks I realized I was doing the mental work but not the emotional release. Now I am going back over the list and really allowing myself to feel the feelings, express them (privately), surrender them. It is really working. I am feeling it lift off my shoulders. I have been able to modify my diet.

All I wanted was a simple workbook so my 9-year-old daughter could practice her cursive handwriting. Happily, this workbook fit the bill!I actually read through quite a few reviews of other workbooks before making this purchase, and I'm glad I did. Mostly, people had very specific complaints about other workbooks, and I'm happy to confirm that those concerns do not apply here. This book is a full-sized 8.5" x 11" workbook. It is not miniature-sized in any way.Sample letters - capital and lowercase - do have arrows to show the direction in which to write each letter. The tail of the arrow indicates the starting point. There is only one arrow for each pen stroke, so the person learning to write cursive does need to understand the concept of re-tracing lines, as required when writing, say, capital N and capital M. If a letter requires more than one pen stroke - like capital K - there is an arrow for each separate stroke, plus a small number that indicates the stroke order.Pages are perforated, so they can be cleanly torn out and used as worksheets. The bulk of the book consists of one practice page per letter. Each page includes the letter written in upper and lowercase cursive, a funny little picture of something starting with that letter, and two sample words describing the picture. So, for example, the N page shows a picture of a necktie, and the words "nifty necktie" are written in cursive beside it. There are guidelines for practicing - solid lines along the top and bottom of each capital letter, and dashed lines in the middle to show the height of lowercase letters. Each page has 8 practice lines, including 6 traceable capital letters (pre-printed in light grey), and 6 traceable lowercase letters.Additional pages focus on some specific aspect of cursive writing. For example:- Curves- Ascending letters (lowercase letters that are as tall as capital letters)- Descending letters (lowercase letters that go below the bottom-most guideline)- Frequently seen consonant combinations and a sample word - with picture - of each (like br for brush, sp for spoon, etc.)- Frequently seen vowel combinations and a sample word - with picture - of each (like oo for book, ou for house, etc.)- All the months of the yearThe workbook has 48 numbered pages, but taking out the title page, table of contents, and introduction, there are 44 sheets to practice on - that is, there are 22 "pages", front and back. The only thing that stood out to me is that the lowercase t is written at full-height, like lowercase l. I have a clear childhood memory of learning that the lowercase t should be slightly shorter than the lowercase l. I don't know if standards have changed, or if it's just a different style, or what, but I guess it doesn't really matter! The bottom line is, this is a great workbook. Plenty of space to practice, plus fun little pictures to go along with sample words.

With the help of this and one other work book, my then 11-year granddaughter was able to learn and practice cursive writing over her summers with her Grammy and me, Granddaddy. It features easy-to-learn examples and exercises and she did most of the work. Her school doesn't teach it, yet much of our history and letters are written in cursive, and nothing is more elegant than cursive compared to block printing. My granddaughter is really proud she worked hard to acquire this life-long skill. Best testimonial? I received this note from her in November:"Dear Granddaddy,Thank you for teaching me cursive,. I have been writing everything in cursive in school and have gotten multiple compliments on this form of writing. I think cursive makes me look a lot smarter.Love, Jessie" Of course, her note was written in...cursive.(I have to watch out for those onion-cutting Ninjas when I read her sweet notes)

Not too impressed. When I learned cursive, I distinctly remembered more swoops and curls and loops... the P and R and C in this just looks like you slapped the printed letter a little sideways and all it would need was a V8 to straighten back up. So it's ok for what it is. Just not what I expected. Really not worth my $6. Maybe half that and we'll call it good.

It's a book teaching cursive writing. It does that. I wanted something that wasn't geared toward younger kids and this was it. I discovered that my grandkids who are in jr high and starting high school couldn't write and I was furious. I ordered this and it seems to do the job.

Ordered this to help an 11 yr old learn cursive because the schools didn't require it when he was in the 3rd grade. NOW that he is in the 5th, we have to practice. This book provides exactly what we needed. I am not disappointed.

I got this book for my grandson who is twelve years old and doesn't know how to read cursive. His teachers do not teach it. "It is no longer needed." I don't believe that at all! Good book.

I am convinced of the value in learning cursive writing which is no longer taught in many schools. I bought this for my 13 year-old son and it has been wonderful. He hasn't been bored wihch was important so that he would willingly do these excercies and his writing is improving immensely. Highly recommend!

gets the job done
